Vancouver IT’s Infrastructure Services team recently launched WSU Vancouver’s first Network Operations Area. The NOA is a major step forward in maintaining real-time data on critical network systems by providing situational awareness of the campus’s network. Within its first week, the area has already provided actionable data on real network issues that can be addressed by IT with limited expense and time. As the campus network evolves, the NOA is also flexible to accommodate network growth and changes. The NOA was created thanks to resource and budget reallocation within the Vancouver IT department. Kudos to Infrastructure Services team members Mac Mintz, Marty Randolph, Patrick Reiter and Lori Wallachy, as well as student workers Komivi Akengue, Thomas Davis, Gian-Luca doCavaleiro-Matsuda, Jasmine Emerson and Michael Tucker.
