Position summary: 

The Program Specialist 2 position works under supervision of the Academic Director at the Carson College of Business and is responsible for achieving marketing and communications and recruiting objectives through community engagement and recruiting activities for the Carson College of Business. While the position engages with the Carson College Vancouver (CCBV), the primary program engagement is with the CCBV’s Business Growth MAP (MAP). The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: building community connections with key stakeholders who will participate in CCBV signature programs, perform the identification and screening for potential program participants, build rapport with potential clients and volunteers, explaining benefits, and helping participants through completing the application process to meet recruiting goals, plan, develop, and implement MAP Alliance monthly event, outreach events and other stakeholder events. Assist in selection of speakers, selecting and working with venues for optimal program effectiveness, overseeing agendas, and on-site activities.

Plan and develop content for communication for print and digital with assistance from the Office of Marketing and Communications, WSUVancouver. Responsible for communications and recruitment projects including timelines and deadlines; for the programs and activities to advance community engagement mission at Carson College of Business, Vancouver.

Minimum requirements: 

A Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in the development of marketing and recruitment programs, including short and long term strategies, policies, and services.

Demonstrated experience in writing, editing, and coordinating news releases, newsletters, magazines, annual reports, proposals or related materials.

Preferred qualifications: 

Experience in higher education with demonstrated knowledge of university operations, policies, and procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or English.

Demonstrated ability in organizing and expressing ideas in oral and written communication and carrying out clearly defined procedures.

Demonstrated experience with collecting, tracking and reporting data.

Demonstrated experience to take initiative to organize, manage and prioritize multiple demands, tasks, assignments and projects efficiently and to complete assignments in a timely manner with attention to detail.

Proficiency with word processing, database and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Demonstrated strong customer service orientation.
