Position summary: 

The Client Services Representative interacts with students in a professional, courteous and confidential manner; demonstrates strong organizational skills; and works independently and collaboratively on behalf of the Student Wellness Center.

This position serves as the initial point of contact for students seeking any appointments, manages records, data, temporary personnel, and budgets, and provides clerical support and assistance to the work of counseling, health, and disability services.

Counseling Services provides short-term individual and couples counseling, group counseling, psychological assessment, crisis and consultation services, and outreach presentations and workshops to currently enrolled WSU Vancouver students.

Co-located with the Access Center, which provides accommodations and services to eligible Washington State University Vancouver students with disabilities to ensure equal access to academic and campus-related activities.

Co-located with the Student Health Clinic, providing appointments to evaluate and treat the basic health needs of students.

The Client Services Representative must have the ability to coordinate a fast-paced clinical environment in which students may be dealing with acute psychological and health crises.

Confidentiality must be maintained in all matters relating to Counseling and Health Services & Access Center and the student clients served in accordance with state and federal guidelines, including FERPA and HIPAA.

Minimum requirements: 

High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of general office experience or one year of office or customer service experience in a healthcare setting; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

Experience working with reception or records in an office setting, preferably in healthcare or mental health with emphasis on client/patient service.

Preferred qualifications: 

Associates or bachelor’s degree.

Accurate and effective communication skills; both verbal and written.

Experience with computers, including advanced features, with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.

Customer service experience in a higher education environment.

Experience working with diverse populations such as non-traditional, first-generation, low income, and students with disabilities.

Experience with electronic record-keeping.

$2,480.00 per month
