Position summary: 

The Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 is an associate teacher in the Child Development Program (CDP) who collaborates and assists in implementing the educational curriculum and the general operation of preschool classroom for children ages 3 – 6 years of age in a developmentally appropriate full-day classroom within a university laboratory setting. Maximum of 40 hours per week but hours worked may vary. This is a 10-month, full time, benefits eligible position.

Minimum requirements: 

One year of experience in an early childhood program and thirty quarter credit hours in early childhood development/education/special education; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

Associates degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Development OR Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

Background clearance and fingerprinting (if needed) upon hire.

Negative results of TB Skin Test upon hire.

HIV/Aids Bloodborne Pathogen Training upon hire.

Basic First Aid or Pediatric First Aid Certification upon hire.

Basic CPR and Infant/Child CPR certification upon hire.

Washington State Food Worker Card upon hire.

STARS 20hr Basic Training or a valid exemption within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred qualifications: 

Two (2) years experience with children, ages 3-6 years, in group child care setting.

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices with young children.

Proven leadership skills.

Demonstrated excellent communication skills with parents, children and colleagues.

Experience which demonstrates flexibility in dealing with frequent changes and/or crises.

$2,595.00 per month.
