Position summary: 

This is a management level Custodian position that is responsible for the planning and scheduling of custodial operations to ensure effective use of University resources toward sanitary, clean and aesthetically pleasing buildings on the WSU Vancouver campus.

Independently responsible for planning, developing, and directing activities of the custodial department; analyzing the needs for staffing, equipment, and supplies; developing departmental budget; and approving purchases of supplies and equipment within budgetary allocation. Manages custodial services for multiple buildings including oversee the entire swing shift custodial operations.

Standard schedule: 
Mon-Th: start at 5:00 pm and finish at 1:30 am
Friday: start at 4:00 pm and finish at 12:30 am

Minimum requirements: 

Two years experience supervising or directing others in large-scale housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance or custodial work; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

Must have or able to obtain at time of hire a valid driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications: 

Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments. Proven ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities.

Experience managing budgets related to this field.

Demonstrated ability applying the cleaning standards of the Association for Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA).

Work schedule: 
M-Th from 5:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m.; Fridays from 4:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.
Salary: 
$2905.00 + $174.00 shift differential
