Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Services

Position summary: 

Provide operational and administrative leadership for facilities services, to include capital planning and facilities operations. Direct reports include five operational areas – Physical Plant including building maintenance (BAM) and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) and grounds; Facilities Administration; Environmental Health and Safety; Custodial Services; and Capital Planning & Development. Area of responsibility includes 50 full and part time staff and managers, operating budget of $4M and varying levels of capital projects. Liaison with local and state regulatory and administrative agencies and representatives.

Minimum requirements: 

Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, construction management, or similar field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may substitute for the education requirement.

Additional Requirements:

Experience in a senior level position with a record of successful leadership in facilities operations.

Experience in providing timely and cost responsive customer service while balancing stewardship of institutional needs.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.

Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license.

Experience managing effectively within a diverse environment and promoting cultural diversity and positive workplace climate.

Preferred qualifications: 

Advanced degree.

Formal licensure.

Experience in an institution of higher education, govermental organization or a comparable corporate environment.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
