Equity and Diversity
You are welcome here
The Office of Equity and Diversity provides direction for the campus-wide effort at WSU Vancouver to promote an ethical and socially just society through an intentional commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
To achieve our vision, we are committed to the following objectives:
1. Closing the opportunity gap by ensuring equitable opportunities and outcomes for all student populations, including comparable retention and graduation rates across demographic groups.
2. Increasing capacity for institutional change and working toward equity in all aspects of campus endeavors.
3. Building and maintaining a campus climate that provides a safe, affirming and welcoming environment for all employees and students.
Office of Equity and Diversity has established SPACE, a cohesive and proactive framework through which WSU Vancouver achieves its equity and diversity objectives. The SPACE framework consists of five pillars: Support. Partnership. Assessment. Communication. Education.
Led by Obie Ford III, campus director of Equity and Diversity, the Office of Equity and Diversity facilitates SPACE and makes equity-mindedness tangible for all employees, students, alumni and community partners alike.
