Biography: Lynn Valenter, Interim Chancellor - Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations

Photo of Lynn ValenterIn her role as interim chancellor, Lynn Valenter acts as chief executive officer of WSU Vancouver. She provides the overall direction for campus programs, activities and services. In this role, Valenter is also responsible for academic leadership, fiscal management and the physical and human resource development of the growing Vancouver campus.

In her role as vice chancellor of finance and operations, Valenter has responsibility for the areas of budget and accounting, capital planning and development, dining services, facilities operations, human resource services and public safety.

Valenter holds a Master of Business Administration from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Science in hotel administration from Cornell University. She previously held resort industry management positions and was a faculty member at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona.

Valenter began her career at WSU Vancouver as the facilities and auxiliary services manager in 1997. She was promoted to director of finance and operations in 1999, became vice chancellor in 2005 and is currently serving as interim chancellor. She resides in Camas with her husband and five children.
