Community Members Invited to Help WSU Vancouver Identify Important Characteristics of its Next Chancellor

VANCOUVER, WASH. – Community members are invited to share their opinions at Washington State University Vancouver’s Chancellor Search Forum 4 – 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Dengerink Administration building, room 129/130. The discussion will center on what WSU Vancouver should look for in its next chancellor and what the next chancellor should know about the WSU Vancouver community and the community at large.

The forum will be moderated by Gay Selby, associate clinical professor, education and chair of the 17-member Chancellor Search committee. There will be an opportunity for everyone to provide feedback on paper or online for the committee’s consideration.

The next chancellor of WSU Vancouver will fill the role vacated when H.A. “Hal” Dengerink, WSU Vancouver’s founding chancellor, retired in August.

The chancellor is the chief executive officer of WSU Vancouver and reports to the president. WSU Vancouver’s next chancellor will play a pivotal role in the growth and future of the university. As the visionary leader of WSU Vancouver, the chancellor provides the overall direction for all campus programs, activities and services. In this role, the chancellor is also responsible for academic leadership, fiscal management and the physical and human resource development of the growing Vancouver campus.

WSU Vancouver is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Avenue off the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205. Parking is available at meters or in the Blue Daily Pay lot for $3.
